Steps to Your Own Web Site

1. Obtain a Domain Name

In order to have a hosted site, a domain name is required. The domain name is part of the URL address which allows your site to be found on the Internet. We currently use namecheap.com as our source for registering a domain name. You can obtain your domain name yourself (which we recommend) or we can do it for you. Domain Name Purchase. The namecheap.com site is easy to navigate and use. The cost is under $10.00 for one name for one year. You can use any domain name purchase agent other than namecheap.com as well. Once you purchase a hosting package from us, we have information about domain and sub-domain names available we will send to you in your welcome email once we set up your site.

2. Determine the Size Package You Need

Package A is a great entry package. It's just perfect for starting out and powerful enough to handle several products for sale, lots of web pages and comes with e-mail, email list software, autoresponder, private page ability, a cgi-bin for security as well as a Control Panel you use with a lot of options.

Package B is just the right size for a somewhat larger site. It is large enough to contain a Shopping Cart. It is also ideal for making pages which show graphic art and have lots of traffic because you can hot link to some of the images on the site.

Package C is enough larger that you are able to choose such features as a Forum, Blog, and full size shopping cart such as the Agora Cart.

Package D is for heavy use of graphic and lot's of pages. It's the perfect package for those who wish to use more of the features available.

3. Purchase Your Site

See the individual web site pages for information about Ordering your Package. To purchase your web site package, you can pay using Paypal or by check. If you pay by check, you will have access to your site once your pay.

4. Set Up Your Site

You will receive helpful information on how to set up your site for you to download. Our contact email address is for you to ask questions.

5. Plan and Design Your Web Pages

If you need help with this, we include some files to use as reference when are planning and designing your site.

6. Create Your HTML Documents

We cannot personally help you with writing the code for your web pages, but we do offer some reference material which might be of use as you get your html documents and image files ready to upload.

Pages can be written from scratch or you can use an html editor.

If your package is large enough, you can install the web site maker (50 or 100 mega byte package required for this).

An alternative is to have a web designer obtain your domain name, set up and program the site for you as a "turn key" site. See the document titled "Turn Key Sites" in the information package.
